The Nautilus XP Cabin Kit

The Nautilus XP was designed as the perfect vacation cabin for families and larger groups.  At 615 square feet the Nautilus XP is an extra large one room cabin.  Add the loft for a grand total of 845 square feet.  The large spaces and huge volume allow for multiple sleeping arrangements and multiple living spaces.  The 20 ft. ceiling is skinned in canvas and combines a city loft aesthetic with that of a covered wagon.  A truly unique and impressive space.

The 8 foot by 8 foot roll up glass door promotes interaction with the outdoors opening the main space to nature.  The roll up door combined with the available modular furniture options allow the Nautilus XP to convert into a storage garage when not occupied.   Pull boats, four wheelers, bikes, patio furniture and all the rest of your toys inside for safe keeping while you’re gone.

The Nautilus XP can be equipped as an “off the grid” cabin.  Solar power provides electricity, heat, and hot water.  Your particular site will determine the performance of these systems, but most will experience the joy of not having an electric or heating bill.  These systems will keep your Q safe and warm, even when you are not there.  No frozen pipes or winterizing.  The optional Q Monitor allows the cabin to be monitored and manipulated from a remote location using your cell phone or computer.

The kitchen was designed for ease of use and durability.  The kitchen features solid surface counters, stainless steel sink, and “off grid” capable appliances.  The bathroom features brushed nickel fixtures, solid surface counter and one piece acrylic shower.  Both the kitchen and the bathroom have sturdy easy cleaning details.

The finishes both inside and outside were designed for low maintenance and pleasing aesthetics.  The interior walls are skinned in a combination of reclaimed wood and burlap.  The floors are concrete, and can be heated by radiant piping under the slab.  Lofts are finished in hardwood.  There is no paint inside or outside your Q.  Wood surfaces are prefinished in water based clear finishes or left natural.  The loft space is protected by a stainless steel cable rail system with steel uprights and a wood handrail and top cap.  The exterior finishes are manufactured stone siding panels, corrugated metal siding with either a clear or corten finish, and details in wood, aluminum and concrete.

The structure of the Q system is meant to last a lifetime.  The Quonset sections are roll formed galvalume with a 25 year warranty from the manufacturer.  The sidewalls are structural insulated panels (SIPs).  We investigate your local code requirements to make sure that our structural design meets local standard.  Heavy snow load conditions can be resolved with our snow load package.
