1. Can I build a Q anywhere?
No, you can not build a Q anywhere. Planning codes, building codes, CCR’s (Codes, Covenants, and Restrictions) all play a part in determining whether or not you can build a Q in the location your thinking about.
2. OK, I like the design of the Q, now what?
The first step is to contact Design Horizons to complete a design and specification worksheet and then price your exact Q model. The next step is to order your plans and specifications ($2,500 non-refundable). You decide when to initiate the final order. Once initiated, your Q Cabin Kit will be delivered in 30 days ready to be assembled. The Q Storage Trailer that your components are delivered in is yours for 30 days while you construct your Q Cabin.
3. Do I need a contractor?
While all the systems of the Q Cabins are very straight forward, Design Horizons recommends using a licensed contractor for most installations. However, if you have skills in construction, these kits are intended for quick straight forward installations utilizing carpentry and mechanical skills for a crew of about 3 persons.
4. What states do you sell Q Cabin in?
Q Cabins can be delivered to any state. If you are outside of California, Design Horizons will help locate and qualify a Q installer for your area. If you are thinking of a Q Cabin in California, Design Horizons would be happy to provide a quote for installation.
5. What is the warranty with a Q Cabin?
Installations are covered by your contractor, but all the main components of your Q Cabin come with a 5 year minimum warranty against defect. The roof components come with a 25 year warranty. Many others come with lifetime warranties. A complete warranty binder keeps them organized and accessible.
6. I like the Q but I have something else in mind, Do you do custom work?
Yes! Design Horizons has a passion for design and construction. California projects only, no matter how small, as long as design is the emphasis, and quality construction is your desire.
