About Design Horizons

Company History:

Design Horizons was conceived shortly before owner, Vern Sneed’s, graduation from the School of Architecture at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas back in 1988.  Inspired by a troupe of construction artisans known as the Jersey Devils, Vern Sneed began his pursuit of architecture through the art of construction.  After years of construction, management, design and entrepreneurial experience totalling 43 million dollars we arrive here.

Design Horizons has high end boutique experience as well as large production focused experience.  Design Horizons expertise with CPM scheduling, detailed cost accounting and accurate estimating will get your project completed on time and in budget.  We understand your need for image perfection and fiscal management.

Residential

Design Horizons has extensive remodel and new construction experience.  We have remodeled and built designer homes and mountain getaways in all price ranges.  Our project selection does not rely on size or budget but on design.  Your desire to make a positive contribution to the built environment will get our full attention.  We pride ourselves in the ease of the process for the homeowner as well as attention to your satisfaction of every detail of your home.

Historic Preservation

Design Horizons respects the efforts of those who have designed and built before us.  All structures left to us by previous generations have significance.  Design Horizons has the ability to work within the architectural fabric left behind and breathe new life into historic structures.

Design Horizons offers services ranging from commercial TI to civic improvements , recreational retreats to new residential.  We offer solutions based in architectural theory and green building practices with a common sense approach to problem solving.  Our Design//Build approach streamlines the building process and insures that your contractor has the same aesthetic goal as your designer.
